| Winter Gardens
You want to have your landscape looking pretty good in the summer and spring months, but how about the fall and winter months. Try to keep up your landscaping even though the weather is kind of cold. There are some things that you can do to beautify your landscape in the winter months too. You could begin a winter garden; there are perennials that do survive in the cold long winter months. Some of the perennials you could plant in your yard, either the front yard or the backyard. Here are some plants you may be able to find, Bugleweed, Rock Cress Sea Thrift, Snow in the summer, Lamb’s Ear, Foam Flower, Basket of Gold, Lenten Rose, Spotted Dead Nettle, Fountain Grass, Red Switch Grass, Moss Phlox and many others. You will also find ferns that will survive the winter months such as Ebony Spleenwort, Marginal Shield Fern and Christmas fern. Winter gardens can beautiful to watch, some people don’t believe in keeping any types of plants around in the winter because no one will see them in the winter. But if you plant some of them in the front yard then people will see them as they leave their homes. Neighbors will admire a winter garden because hardly any people actually go through with putting them in. If your flowers and plants in the summer are worth it then aren’t the winter plants? |
