If you have a swimming pool in your backyard then you have something to contribute the landscape of your backyard. A pool by itself beautifies the plain old green back yard but there are many things you can do to enhance that landscape. For starters in you have an above ground pool then you can build a deck around it and maybe place some lawn chairs and a towel rack on top, it would give your pool character.
Inground pools are much easier to beautify, depending on what you already have, if you have nothing around it you could plant some flowers or plants, not directly next to the pool because you will get bugs trying to get the flowers. You can safely plant them a few feet from the pool and still have it look great. If you are really into the landscape and you have the means, you could hire a concrete contractor and they could lay cement around the entire pool where you have lounge chairs or a small patio where you could eat by the pool side.
If you have a party you could set up tables and chairs all around the area, it would look great. Then you could have them pour concrete from the pool to the patio almost like a walkway. That would look great, you could shape it in any design you want. Plan a budget and get some estimates anything to spruce up a backyard landscape.
