| Butterfly Gardening | |
| Butterfly gardening is a gardening aimed at creating a garden type in environment that attracts butterflies and some moths. The goal of butterfly gardening is to attract butterflies and moths and if they lay eggs and hatch in the garden then that would be a bonus. Sometimes you may not get the butterflies right away so may want to try caterpillars, they will transform into butterflies and then you can have that garden you wanted. But this type of garden must be enclosed because they will fly away and you will have to start the process all over again.
You may ask, do people really butterfly garden and the answer is yes, they do for a couple of reasons, they start these gardens for the true beauty of the butterfly and then some do it as a project as photographers. It is sometimes impossible to get a butterfly picture unless they are right in front of you. This does not come along very often. Then there are those that claim they are trying to help the population of the butterfly. But like any other living thing, butterflies have predators including wasp, spiders, birds, ants and flies. You can control them with traps if you decide to keep these plants outside but if you kept them in a greenhouse you may be able to minimize the risk. Butterflies do get diseases; they do not last a very long time so you never know how long you will have these insects around, something to keep in mind. |
